VNU Center for Educational Accreditation held a meeting with the delegation from the Executive Board of the ASEAN University Network (AUN).

On February 4, 2026, the VNU Center for Educational Accreditation (VNU-CEA) held a meeting with the Executive Board of the ASEAN University Network (AUN) to discuss issues related to quality assurance and accreditation in higher education, and to explore potential cooperation between VNU-CEA and AUN in the field of quality assurance and accreditation/assessment.


Overview of the Meeting

The AUN delegation visiting and working with the Center included Assoc.Prof. Dr. Thanapan Laiprakobsup – AUN Executive Director, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Dawisa Sritanyarat – Acting Deputy Executive Director, and other members of the delegation, including heads of departments and secretarial offices.

Attending the meeting were Assoc.Prof. Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien - Director, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Toan - Deputy Director and Chairman of the Council for Educational Accreditation, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Dung - Vice Chairman of the Management Board, and representatives of the leadership and staff of the Center's specialized departments.

In her welcoming remarks, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien affirmed that the goal of this meeting was to have a more in-depth exchange on the work of ensuring and accrediting the quality of higher education between the two sides. Assoc.Prof. Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien also proposed several key areas of cooperation that VNU-CEA wishes to pursue with AUN in the future, including training and capacity building for assessment experts, sharing experiences and best practices, and supporting the internal quality assurance activities of universities to meet the requirements of the new Higher Education Law and regional standards.

During the meeting, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Toan - Deputy Director gave a overview speech of VNU-CEA, its operational results, the system of criteria for quality accreditation of educational institutions, training programs, and the quality accreditation process in Vietnam.

Assoc.Prof. Dr. Thanapan Laiprakobsup introduced about IQA Management Toolkit

During the meeting, the AUN delegation presented and introduced AUN, AUN-QA, and the IQA Management Toolkit. The delegation also expressed their desire to learn more about Vietnam's educational quality accreditation system and to explore opportunities for cooperation to expand relations, exchange experiences, and develop a network of educational quality accreditation.

AUN (ASEAN University Network) is a network of leading universities in the ASEAN region, established in November 1995 by the initiative of the Council of Ministers of Education of Southeast Asian countries, with initial members nominated by the Ministers of Education of each country. Since its inception, AUN has considered the quality of education as a key objective to affirm internationally the development of ASEAN higher education, creating interconnectedness and mutual recognition of educational quality among universities within and outside the network.
